From Luxor Airport (LXR): Distance to Sonesta St George Hotel is 18 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there.A frequent bus service runs from the airport to central Luxor, and the journey time is approximately 20 minutes. Taxis to the city centre cost approximately 50 EGP (10 EUR), and the fare should be negotiated prior to travelling. Many resorts and hotels provide airport transfers. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Luxor is best explored by taxi, and taxis can be hired for the day or for individual journeys. Horse-drawn carriages (caleches) are ideal for shorter, leisurely journeys. Hop-on, hop- off microbuses run across fixed routes, and can be crowded. Sail boats (feluccas), ferries and motor boats frequently cross the Nile, running from Corniche to the West Bank.
