The Avenue Hotel was established in 1936, and is situated on the False Bay coastline in the small town of Fish Hoek, 500 meters from the beach and 40 kilometers from Cape Town. Guestrooms are available in the West Wing, which have courtyard facing views, and have been decorated to a nautical theme, or in the Lady Anne Wing, which have street facing views and have been decorated with cheerful autumn colors. All have light oak-finish furniture, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities.
The hotel restaurant in the Lady Anne dining room offers a full buffet breakfast and dinner, and a light buffet for lunch, comprising English fare with specialty South African delicacies. The dining room has wood paneling, dark wood furniture and ceiling fans. DRIVING TO THE HOTEL::
From Cape Town International Airport:
Follow the blue sign Cape Town-N2. Continue straight on the N2. Then get into the far left hand lane while approaching a turn off to the left saying Muizenberg-M3. Take the turn-off and continue straight down the highway to the end of it. Turn left and continue to a T-junction, keeping in the right hand lane. Turn right at the T-junction and continue towards Fish Hoek. Upon entering Fish Hoek continue down the Main Road until you get to a traffic circle. Continue right around the traffic circle and exit towards Kommetjie. Take the first right turn-off into First Avenue. The hotel is on the left hand side opposite Nieuport apartments.
