Location. The PUNTACANA Hotel stretches along a five-kilometer strand of Caribbean beach with an ecological reserve, 18-hole oceanfront golf course and horse-riding ranch. The resort is located in the Dominican Republic village of Higuey.
Hotel Features. This tropical property is commended for developing a 105-acre ecological reserve with a biodiversity/sustainability research center located across the road. The resort's outdoor pools are available 24 hours a day, where the main pool features an adjacent children's pool and attracts swim-up patrons, a "quiet" pool includes a waterfall and children's section, and a third pool provides sea views. The 77 villas are located within the resort's forest/garden section and others face the beach. Villas have open-air living rooms with private garden- courtyards. Some three-bedroom villas have all bedrooms presented in courtyard settings. Décor includes mahogany and rattan furniture, marble floors, and freestanding marble/wood vanities with shower/tub combinations.
