DRIVING DIRECTIONSThe closest airports are Salzburg and Munich. There are taxi transfers to the Gasteiner valley.
Coming from Salzburg:
Approximately 1 hour: Tauernautobahn (freeway) heading south and take the turn off to Bischofshofen, go past this, continue and take the left turn into Gasteinertal (Gastein valley)
Coming from Innsbruck:
Approx. 2 hours: Take the autobahn/freeway, exit at Wörgl and take the main road 312, exit at St.Johann/Tyrol drive until Lofer, main road 311 exit at Zell am See drive to Lend, main road 167, then turn right into the Gastein valley (Gasteinertal). Another route is to take the autobahn to Kufstein, then to Salzburg, then head towards Villach taking the exit to Gastein valley at the Bischofhofen turnoff (main road 167)
Coming from the south:
Drive via Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz where you put your car on a train (Tauernschleuse) to take you comfortably into Bad Gastein.
