The main attractions of Lovran, once a well known maritime and trading city, include the still visible remnants of the city walls, the gates to the harbour which were once closed at night and the restored medieval tower which is now home to the Maritime Museum and the gallery of world renowned painter Charles Billich. The Church of St. George has a separate Romanesque bell tower, and its interior was painted in a specific artistic manner.

Driving from the direction of TRIESTE (Italy): Take E61 – direction Slovenia/Kozina. Entry into Slovenia (Kozina). Continue by E61. Entry into Croatia (Pasjak). Continue in direction of Rijeka/Opatija. Enter A7 (a toll payment required) – via Rijeka. After app 8 km turn right towards Opatija.
