When approaching the hotel from in the car you will pass a “masía” (traditional Catalán cottage) called “Ca La Masovera”, where you can enjoy the superb view over the gardens of our development. From here, on foot, you can follow the path down to the reception, a meeting point for all the activities and a small shop where we sell our home grown produce and souvenirs.
This main building acts as the centre of our small rural holiday “village” and where you will find the restaurant, the café-bar and multifunctional rooms that apart from having stunning panoramic views are also ideal for small conferences or work meetings. The accommodation is found in the other buildings.
The hotel is totally surrounded by nature and countryside. An ideal setting for taking part in some of the activities run by the hotel in its own Farm!There are 2 swimming pools, one adults and one child. The views from the hotel are superb views: on the left, Port del Comte, the Cadi mountain range, Busa mountain range, Pedraforca, Rassos de Peguera and Queralt mountain range, Cardona's castle opposite and Montserrat to the left.
FOOD AND RESTAURANTS:Our restaurant "El Restaurant del Vilar", has a buffet and grilled food. Meals are simple with a wide variety including meals suitable for children. Different dishes every day, according to the season. Capacity for 130 people.
Our bar is rural but elegant with a nice atmosphere, we offer a wide range of home-made sandwiches at excellent prices. In summer you can enjoy the two terraces: one is located in the Vilar’s Square and the other looks onto Cardona’s Castle as well as the Vilar’s kitchen garden.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS:The Vilar Rural de Cardona has a little village feel to it, due to the way rooms are laid out.
Two-story horizontal buildings laid out in two streets with a total of 100 bedrooms. We have twin rooms, double rooms, triple rooms, rooms for four people, rooms for disabled people and larger rooms for families. Some of them have a small garden or terrace and all of them have a great view of the surrounding area.

·Lourdes’s chapel – excursió d’1 hora i 15 minuts aproximadament, caminant (anada i tornada).
· From the Vilar to Palà de Torruella (GR-3) – length: 3 hours approximately, on foot (going and returning). · From the Vilar to Sant Ponç’s pond – length: 2 hours approx., on foot (round trip). You have to go to the pond by car before commencing the walking tour. If you wish to walk all the way to the pond, take the West side there and the East side back. If you walk all the way it will take you about 5 hours.

· Cardona – Sant Pere de Graudescales - You can enjoy the luxurious vegetation in Ora valley (33 km).
· Cardona – Sant Llorenç de Morunys (Lord’s sanctuary) – The source of the Cardener river.
· Cardona – Old village of Súria (55 km).
·Other routes near the Vilars:
· Cardona’s medieval quarter - Guided tours to the well preserved Cardona’s medieval quarter. . Sant Miquel’s gothic church is not to be missed.
· Cardona’s castle - Parador housed in a historic building. One of the few castles that remains standing in Catalonia.
The castle, which dominates the village, houses Sant Vicenç’s 11th century collegiate church.
· Cultural Park in the Salt Mountain - A unique natural phenomenon. Located at 1 km. from the Vilar Rural.
· Solsona - It is well worth visiting the old quarter. The episcopal palace must be highlighted. This town is well-known for its Corpus celebration, its annual festival and its carnival. There is a market every Friday.
· Manresa - Capital town of Bages region. Not many towns in Catalonia can boast of Its Llum (light) party, renowned for it’s old papier-maché giants.
· Montserrat’s Monastery - Spiritual centre located in the heart of Catalonia
DRIVING DIRECTIONSThe Vilar RURAL DE CARDONA is 85 km away from Barcelona.
Take the C-58 motorway (exit 50) and turn off at the exit for Manresa. Carry on towards Solsona.
From Lleida or from Girona take the “Eix Transversal” dual carriageway until Manresa (exit 132). Once in Manresa take the C-55 towards Solsona.
