Location. The Deer lodge is secluded within a national park near Lake Louise Village in Alberta, Canada. The lodge stands one kilometer from hiking trails and six kilometers from the Lake Louise Ski Hill.
Hotel Features. The Deer Lodge retains much of its original hand-hewn log features and décor, while architectural structures have been restored. A stone fireplace glows, while a cedar sauna banishes the evening chill. Clear skies reveal star-swept nights, which can be admired from the rooftop spa tub. The hotel's Caribou Lounge lends spectacular views of the Victoria Glacier. Mount Fairview Dining Room prepares Austrian- and Swiss-inspired cuisine, including smoked, cured or roasted wild game, indigenous berries, and locally grown wild fruits. The restaurant prides itself on an extensive selection of wines from British Columbia, the Niagara Peninsula and selections from hard-to-find vintners' reserves. One-half kilometer from Lake Louise, local activities include rock climbing, canoeing, white-water rafting and horseback riding.
